Donau City Tower 2 is the last high-rise building in the Donau City development area in Vienna's 22nd district. Together with Donau City Tower 1, it forms an architectural duo that emerged from a competition won by the Dominique Perrault Architektur studio. The company ghp gmeiner haferl & partner zt GmbH was commissioned to calculate the DC2 project. The client for this impressive project is the S+B Group on behalf of Commerzreal.

A new multifunctional building with twelve above-ground and three underground floors is being constructed in the city of Brno, Czech Republic. Engineers from STATIKON Solutions s.r.o. have taken on several challenges with this project and agreed to share some exciting details about it.

This skew-angled bridge, built in 1952, spans the river Töss near Wila as a single-span girder with a span of 29.60 meters. The superstructure, consisting of a five-web slab girder with central and two-end cross girders, is prestressed in its longitudinal and transverse directions. The Baur-Leonhardt system was used for the longitudinal prestressing, consisting of endless strand loops guided around semi-circular deflection blocks at the end supports. Developed by Professor Fritz Leonhardt in 1949, this system dates back to the pioneering days of prestressed concrete construction. In Switzerland, it was used on only a few bridges, but more than 150 prestressed bridges were built internationally using the Baur-Leonhardt system.

The MRT viaduct is a unique structure in Singapore which integrates an MRT station with a bus interchange and adjoining commercial developments such as shopping malls. In this project, the MRT viaduct is integrated with the building structure on levels B2, B1, and L1 and features a landscaped roof that fits seamlessly within the viaduct.
