Clamp connections prove their versatility in multiple applications, from fastening pipes to reinforcing complex structures. On this occasion, I want to show you a practical case of its application in marine substructures, specifically in the lower connection mechanism of leg fenders and berths.
In offshore design, a clamp connection is a mechanical fastening system used to connect structural elements—especially subsea pipelines, risers, conductors, and structural braces—without the need for welding or hot work. These connections are particularly important in offshore environments where modularity, ease of installation, and maintenance under water are critical.
