The approach for the AISC code requires both an initial eccentricity and a reduction in E and G with a reduced limit for Fy. Youngs Modulus and the Shear Modulus are factored by 0.8 with Fy factored by 0.9.

This revised material should be used throughout the project - including any steel parts such as plates - remember it is very easy to modify the steel grade of any member or plate.
