Steel
Nivy bus station is a multifunctional building in Bratislava consisting of a bus station, a park on the green roof, a shopping center, and a market on Mlynske Nivy street.
The structure is built up with a reinforced concrete skeleton using a prestressed slab in combination with a steel roof structure (with three above-ground and two underground floors).
It uses 2,500 tons of steel structures to form the main roof in the upper part and the green roof built up from composite steel-concrete elements in the lower part.
In the three connections presented, there are different connections to the columns. The first is a joint connection where no bolts or welds were used for connecting. The second one is a huge frame connection. The last one is an interesting solution for connecting several elements to a column.
