Connection Design: Steel Structure with Composite Deck

Este artículo también está disponible en:

This project focuses on the first-floor connection design of a steel structure with a composite deck, where lateral torsional restraint plays a key role in stability. Beams in steel structures are often restrained against lateral-torsional buckling by ceilings, cladding, or composite decks. Accurately simulating this restraint is essential for safe and economical design.

In this case, the lateral-torsional restraint is represented by the LTR operation. The N-Vz-My model type is not required here, as it would overconstrain the model. However, we always recommend checking the actual behavior in IDEA StatiCa Member
