Tapered frame corner haunch
The joint of beam and column of a moment-resisting steel frame. Tapered welded I sections are often used to optimize material consumption following the moment distribution. The welded connection is formed of built tapered beams made of plates forming the frame corner connection, and prismatic beams at the ends are used to apply the internal forces.
