Cool Country Engineering (CCE) offers general structural engineering services with a focus on steel and timber construction. Their delegated design services include steel and timber framing connections, as well as steel and mass timber stair systems.
Founded in 2024, CCE brings 24 years of engineering experience from prior firms to tackle new challenges. Their motto, “Turning structural dreams into reality,” reflects a design approach where IDEA StatiCa Connection has been a nearly daily tool since 2017.
Founder Jason McCool, PE, was an early adopter of IDEA StatiCa in the U.S., recognizing that the CBFEM method offers a highly flexible, open-ended approach. Compared to traditional connection design methods, it operates at a higher level of performance to enable the development of creative solutions for non-typical joints.
