Fire design of steel connections

This article is also available in:
Fire design is necessary for nearly every structure. Most often, designers use simple or tabulated methods and apply fire protection. However, performance fire design may save a lot of resources, time and protect the environment (fire protection is quite demanding).

Currently, you must calculate the temperature of the steel elements elsewhere and then set the temperatures for the steel plates. The temperature of welds and bolts is assumed as the highest of the connected parts.

Material degradation is selected in Shared settings according to design codes and load-deformation curves of all elements are modified based on the set temperature.
