Distance between plates when using Bolt or Contact

While modeling a contact or connection between plates, you have to keep the minimal distance. Plates can be analyzed up to distance of 2 mm from each other. If the gap between plates is bigger than 2 mm the analysis can’t be performed.

Gap=0 mm

As to be seen from the picture bellow, the analysis was successfully performed.

Gap=2 mm

On the other hand, since the gap is 2 mm, the analysis couldn’t even start.
