“The optimization of θ angle” is a function employed in the assessment of ULS in shear, torsion and interaction of all the internal forces. Adjusting the θ in the range of 21.8° – 45° can lead to a better utilization of the cross section regarding the shear force Vz. Our software automatically finds the value of θ so that the material and the cross section are optimally used in shear – the concrete in compression, transversal reinforcement (stirrups and bent-up bars) and the longitudinal reinforcement bars. The aim is to improve the design economy and to gain some savings compared to the ordinary way of design with an estimation of the θ angle.
